The problem of acne in black women has never been explored thoroughly. It is for this reason that Jamaican dermatologist, Dr. Neil Persadsingh, decided to write a book about acne and its effects on black women. According to Dr. Persadsingh, "nothing has ever been attempted on this topic from a black perspective."

The book is aimed at black acne sufferers in general and examines the cause, complications and pathology of acne, the manner in which acne is treated; how the drugs work on acne; newer acne treatments such as chemical peels, lasers, masks and facials; the cosmetics that the acne patient may use; the emergency treatment of a zits and the differences between white skin and black skin.

Dr. Persadsingh assures that readers of this book will gain information on the cause and treatment of acne and save money as they will know how the medicines work and what other treatments are available. He added that black women will become more conscious of their skin and how to treat it and get an understanding of the differences between black and white skin. Click here for purchasing information
